The REDress Project is based on an aesthetic response to the more than 500 missing and murdered Aboriginal women in Canada.
Drawing attention to the gendered and racialized nature of violent crimes against Aboriginal women the installation seeks to evoke a presence through the marking of absence. The installation here is a precis of a larger, outdoor work in which more than 500 red dresses will be installed in an accessible public site, in an effort at once to remind and incite, to witness and represent. for more info. please visit: theredressproject.org DONATIONS: As the project is contingent upon community support donations of RED Dresses will be accepted to later be used in the public installation portion of the project.
