Tonight we’re speaking with celebrity chef, restauranteur and host of a brand new APTN series, “Chuck and the First Peoples Kitchen”, Chuck Hughes. If you’re a fan of the Food Network, you’re sure to have seen him before, likely as a guest judge, or host of one of the many show’s bearing his name. In his latest series, Chuck explores Indigenous cuisines from different communities in Canada, spanning from Lobster fishing on the east coast in Chaleur Bay, to hunting Ptarmigan in Iqualuit, Nunavut. In our chat, Chuck tells us how Chuck and the First People’s kitchen was developed, and why he felt compelled to make it happen and how it ended up being a sort of spiritual experience for him.
