Just after 7:30 p.m. yesterday, Prince George RCMP received a report of a man attempting to break into vehicles along the 400-block of Douglas St.
When officers arrived at the scene they located the man. An attempt to arrest the man was made but police were met with resistance including a knife. Officers were able to handcuff him without further incident.
Upon further investigation RCMP believe the suspect was responsible for slashing a number of vehicle tires on the street and entering at least one residence unlawfully. The 28 year old man from the New Hazelton, B.C. area was believed to have been intoxicated by drugs at the time of the arrest. Once the investigation is complete, the B.C. prosecution service will receive the files for charge assessment.
