The B.C. government has extended the state of emergency in the province as the battle against Covid-19 continues.
The state of emergency has now been extended until the end of the day on Tuesday, Aug. 4. The continued extension of the state of emergency enables Mike Farnworth, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General to continue to use the Emergency Program Act to support the government’s response to the pandemic.
On July 10, the Covid-19 Measures Act came into effect. The act allowed for businesses and people to continue to use provisions created to combat the pandemic until the end of the state of emergency. The extension of the state of emergency continues with guidance from B.C.’s health and emergency management officials.
