It was a full house last night for the all candidates debate in Terrace. The event took place at the R.E.M Lee Theatre.
Each candidate had 2 minutes for opening statements and 1 minute for closing statements. There was 1 minute allocated to responding to questions as well as 30 seconds for rebuttals.
Merv Ritchie and Danny Nunes did not attend the forum last night leaving the other 6 candidates to take the stage.
There was a wide variety of issues and concerns as voters and local media took to the mic. Some of these issues included, LNG, government spending, climate change and its impact on workers, housing, homelessness, clean water for aboriginal communities, policies for disabled people, policies for Canadian Veterans, policies concerning abortion and a womans right to choose.
Some younger members of the community took to the mic as well asking questions about bike lanes and homelessness.
Voters that didn’t vote in the advanced polls will be going in just three days to decide what party best represents them and their respective communities.
