The hunt for a missing kayaker in northern B.C. may be a for a Belgian man
A woman who says she is the sister of 28 year old Roman Quénéhen has taken to social media asking for tips on his whereabouts.
She says he last made contact with family on August 26th as he prepared to leave Kitimat
According to the family, his plan was to drive to alaska along Highway 37, but hasn’t been heard from since.
Stewart RCMP were called after a helicopter crew spotted a kayak and a backpack floating in the Nass River south of Bell Irving August 28th.
Terrace Search and Rescue team members recovered the items as well as a white gmc crew cab pick-up believed to have been driven by quenehen.
But after no sign of the missing kayaker turned up, the search was called off.
North District RCMP say they have contacted the federal police in Belgium about the case.
