Terrace Search and Rescue managed to find a missing mushroom picker in the Nass Valley over the long weekend.
Crews were called out Monday night after the picker was last seen early Sunday morning in the Old Aiyansh area.
Officials say the male had no supplies for overnighting in the wilderness.
A local group of 25 volunteers was preparing to search the area Tuesday when SAR members in a helicopter made a couple of passes over the Chemainuk Creek area and spotted smoke.
The ground team managed to locate the person in less than an hour.
He was taken to the New Aiyansh Medical Clinic to be looked over.
