A Terrace man finds himself facing assault charges after punching a police officer this morning.
At around 9:20 this morning, RCMP received reports of a man acting erratically on the Dudley Little Bridge.
An officer responded to the scene and witnessed the man shadowboxing, dancing, and yelling as he made his way toward Thornhill.
When the officer attempted to approach the man, he responded by punching the officer in the face, leading to a struggle between the two.
Back up was able to arrive and ease the situation and the man was arrested on charges of Assaulting a Police Officer and Causing a Disturbance.
He was held in custody to appear in court.
