Beginning at noon Thursday, all Category 2 open fires will be banned within the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction.
Prohibited fires include: any burning pile larger than half a metre wide and high and smaller than 2 metres wide and high, and stubble or grass fires larger than 0.2 hectares.
Campfires and Category 3 fires are not included in the ban at this time.
In addition, the use of fireworks, sky lanterns, burning barrels and cages, and binary exploding targets is also prohibited.
