According to BC Health Minister Adrian Dix, Terrace residents will not need to worry about a name change at Mills Memorial Hospital anytime soon.
Minister Dix made the statement in Terrace on the 58th anniversary of the tragic death of hospital namesake Doctor Stanley Mills.
Doctor Mills and his wife Edith passed away during a firs at their Lazelle Avenue home on May 21st, 1961.
As a cherished member of the community, the Mills’ provided health care to residents of Terrace at a time when it was difficult to come by.
Recently, with the Hospital upgrade project’s business plan receiving approval, residents had become warry of a possible name change.
But Minister Dix says that Mills Memorial will move on under that name for the forseeable future.
