The BC government is adding an additional 1.12 million in funding to its ERASE program in an effort to combat the rise of gang violence in the province.
The Expect Respect and Safe Education program is an anti-bullying program which aims to prevent youth from falling in to violent lifestyles.
Strategies are designed to identify and stop harmful behaviours while making community connections to lead to a better life.
On top of the funding increase, the government will also be supplying a 239 thousand dollar grant to help develop ways to support and assist those wishing to leave the gang life.
