A small oil spill from last month may not have been as small as initially reported.
Reports from the Ministry of Environment initially pinned a spill at the Trans Mountain Pipeline’s Darfield station at just 100 litres.
It is now being reported that the May 27th spill at the Kinder Morgan operated station was closer to 48 hundred litres.
Ali Housnell, a spokesperson from the company, says that they never actually provided an estimate beyond stating that it was over the reportable threshold.
100 litres is the minimum amount that must be reported under the Ministry of the Environment’s obligations.
