According to a study by the Fraser Institute, recent minimum wage hikes are the wrong way to fight poverty in the province.
In the study co-authored by Charles Lammam and Hugh MacIntyre, that over 84 percent of minimum wage workers are not part of a low-income family.
On top of this, the study shows that the number of minimum wage jobs being worked plummets following wage hikes.
The study claims that supplying low-income families with subsidized cash for workers is a better way to fight poverty levels in the province.
