Welcome to Journeys with Kelly Kenny. Tonights guest is musician Mike Bern! Mike Bern is from the Tobique First Nation in New Brunswick. Before Mike’s solo career he sang in two award-winning bands called Kickin Krotch and District Avenue. 2021 was a big year for Mike Bern Music. Mike release his first album, Waponahkew, as well as a Christmas single “Christmas on the Rez”. This year he has released 3 singles : Ancestors, Shrine of Shirl and Grateful Sun. Mike Bern’s songwriting is uplifting, easy listening, and very catchy; I find myself humming along and I don’t know the words .. yet!
