A drug trafficking investigation in Quesnel has resulted in the seizure of suspected fentanyl, a firearm, cash and other items following the execution of a search warrant.
According to Quesnel RCMP, officers with the Crime Reduction Unit carried out a search warrant on May 28 at a property on Redstone Road under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Police arrested a 35-year-old man at the scene.
During the search, officers seized approximately 400 grams of suspected fentanyl and about 300 unidentified pills believed to be narcotics. Investigators also recovered contraband cigarettes, a 12-gauge shotgun, a replica handgun, ammunition and approximately $10,000 in cash.
The seizure is part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in the community.
RCMP say those involved have since been released while investigators continue gathering evidence and advancing the file.
No charges have been announced at this time, although police say criminal charges may be considered as the investigation progresses.
