The Smithers RCMP are investigating following a sudden death on a trail near Ranger Park this past Saturday, December 27th.
Local RCMP say the individual has been identified and next of kin have been notified, but they will not be releasing the persons name out of respect for the family’s privacy.
While the investigation remains ongoing and a heavier than usual police presence has been noticed around Smithers, RCMP say there is no risk to the public, and no further details will be released at this time.
