The Boil Water Notice in Prince Rupert has been officially lifted after confirming that water quality standards have been met. The notice, which began in late November due to a power failure at the City’s remote treatment plant, lasted longer than expected as several issues needed to be resolved. These included restoring power, ensuring proper chlorine levels, and fixing a section of pipe that could have introduced stagnant water into the system. The final step involved completing construction on the affected pipe, which was finished last weekend. After two rounds of clear bacteriological tests, Northern Health has approved the removal of the notice. The City thanks residents for their patience during this extended period.
