The First Nations Leadership Council is calling on First Nations voters in BC to make their voices heard in the closely contested 2024 provincial election on October 19th. The FNLC emphasizes that First Nations citizens hold the power to shape the election’s outcome and insists on the importance of engaging with party positions on Indigenous rights and government relationships.
To support community participation, the FNLC has distributed a 2024 Provincial Election Package to all 204 First Nations communities. This package includes questions posed to the Conservative Party of BC, BC Greens, and BC NDP, along with their responses and essential voting information from Elections BC. Notably, the Conservative Party did not answer FNLC’s questions, instead submitting their economic reconciliation platform.
The FNLC encourages communities to share this information and to engage with their riding candidates directly. For more details, contact Colin Braker at the FNLC.
