Flaring will be taking place at their LNG Canada facility in Kitimat this week.
LNG Canada says flaring will commence at some point today, Monday February 2nd, and will last until at least Friday, February 6th, possibly extending into the weekend.
The company says flame heights on the flaring stack are expected to reach around 50 to 200 feet high during the flaring event, and should create some extra noise. LNG Canada has stressed this is a planned flare, and is a critical safety measure at the facility.
This week’s flare should be slightly larger and longer lasting than one that began last Wednesday, which caused a flare about 65 feet high at its peak.
