Tahltan Nation Reaffirms Commitment to FPIC Amid Bill 15 Concerns

The Tahltan Nation is standing firm on its commitment to Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) in response to concerns surrounding Bill 15, which impacts resource development on their lands. The Nation’s leadership, represented through its three governing bodies, emphasized that no project will proceed in Tahltan territory without their explicit consent. This stance is rooted in the recognition of Tahltan Title and Rights, as well as the importance of upholding their traditional laws and governance systems. For generations, the Tahltan people have worked to regulate the pace and scale of resource development in their lands, and they are pleased to see the BC government increasingly aligning with their vision for sustainable development.
