An Assembly of First Nations Regional Chief who was outspoken in his disapproval of ex-National Chief RoseAnne Archibald, is now a Senator.
Nova Scotia Regional Chief Paul Prosper was one of a pair of Indigenous lawyers appointed to the Senate yesterday.
Prosper is also a former Chief of the Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation, with more than 25 years of experience handling Indigenous legal matters.
It came following complaints of harassment and bullying from staffers, but Archibald says her expulsion is another attempt to cover corruption.
Archibald called out the appointment on social media yesterday, where she is continuing efforts to gather support to re-instate her.
Mi’kmaq lawyer Judy White was also appointed to the Senate for Newfoundland and Labrador, following a stint as Director General for Indigenous Services Canada.
