Residents wishing to provide early input on the proposed New Polaris Gold Mine in the Atlin-area are running out of time to do so.
Canagold Resources is looking to develop the underground gold mine at a site along the Tulsequah River, near the Alaska border.
It is anticipated to produce an estimated 3.7 million tonnes of ore annually over the course of its 10 year operating life.
Members of the public have until midnight on Thursday to provide input on the initial project description to the Environmental Assessment Office.
An initial project description defines the major project components, their locations, and the project’s anticipated interactions with the environment.
That will then be used by Canagold to form a Detailed Project Description, which helps decide whether the project proceeds to an assessment.
You can review the project information and send in submissions via this link.
