Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine Provides Resources for Those Impacted by Flooding

With all flood alerts and orders rescinded, the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine has recommendations for the next steps.

Those with contaminated sandbags can bring them to the Thornhill Transfer Station next Tuesday between noon and 7 pm.

While the tipping fee will be waived, it’s required to show proof of address, while unused sandbags can be brought to the Thornhill Fire Hall.

Those who are on a well system are advised to get their water tested for contamination before any use if their property experienced flooding.
