After some delay, the permit review phase for the proposed Blackwater Gold Mine has finally come to an end.
Project operator Artemis Gold says the BC Mines Act permit for the project has been referred to the Ministry for a final decision.
That permit is the last required before major construction can begin, and was initially expected to be received last Fall.
But, despite the delay, Artemis still plans to begin construction activities sometime this quarter.
Located roughly 130 kms southeast of Burns Lake, Blackwater is expected to produce 321,000 ounces of gold annually in the first 5 years of its 23 year lifespan.
