Terrace’s quarterly report for the period of July to the end of September saw an increase in assaults compared to last year and a high profile arrest.
The report shows persons offenses are up by 40 compared to the same period in 2021, while property offenses are up by 46.
As a result, the municipal prisoner numbers went up to 211.
There were also a series of high profile investigations happening in the last quarter, with one resulting in the arrest of a suspect in a human trafficking sexual assualt who has now been sent to the Prince George Regional Correctional Centre.
Currently the general investigation team is working on 4 historical missing persons cases and one breach of trust.
