Nisga’a members with questions on how to renew or apply for hunting and fishing licenses will have a number of opportunities to have them answered next week.
Earlier this week, the Nisga’a Lisims Government announced their moose hunt allotment for the 2022 season, spurring a number of questions on how to apply for hunting licenses.
Through a series of community visits next week, Fisheries and Wildlife experts will help members answer those questions.
Visits will begin in Gitlaxdax on Monday, carry over to Laxgalts’ap on Tuesday, Gingolx on Wednesday, and Gitmaxmak’ay on Thursday.
Sessions are by appointment only, and those looking to book an appointment should contact their local government.
Hunting licenses cost $25 per person, but are free for those 60 and older, and fishing licenses are free, but do incur a replacement fee, and all must be paid in cash.
