A convicted fentanyl dealer from Fort St John who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has finally been arrested after over a year on the lam.
Now 51 year-old Dana Nazarek was initially convicted of trafficking both fentanyl and cocaine in 2017, following a 2013 raid on his home which found thousands of disguised fentanyl pills.
In 2018, police raided Nazarek’s Fort St John home once more, seizing over 800 pills as a result.
That led to further charges being levied against Nazarek, to which he pleaded not guilty, and was scheduled to fight in court in June of 2021.
However, the day before his sentencing, Nazarek cut his ankle-monitoring bracelet and skipped town.
He was found guilty on drug trafficking charges yet again the following day, and a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Friday, after over a year of evading police, Nazarek was again apprehended after possibly being involved in a fight in Vancouver.
He is being held to face further charges in court.
