Houston RCMP were forced to call on the assistance of two other detachments after protesters blocked their exit while conducting an arrest.
On Tuesday, officers were conducting routine patrols on the Morice Forest Service Road, when they recognized a vehicle which had been the subject of numerous complaints.
When attempting to gather information from the driver, police say a passenger began blasting an air horn at them.
According to RCMP, when they attempted to arrest the man for obstruction, a group of 30 protesters surrounded their vehicle, some with other vehicles, preventing them from leaving.
Eventually, officers called on members of the Smithers and Burns Lake detachments to assist and the crowd was dispersed.
But, when they brought the man to the station, a number of protesters also attended, including a woman they recognized from the earlier incident.
She was also arrested for assault of a police officer, for banging a drum directly in the ear of an officer.
Both were later released to appear in court in October.
