While the Nahomin Creek wildfire, near Lytton, remains BC’s only wildfire of note, its largest is burning in the Northwest Fire Centre.
Now covering more than 5,700 hectares, and still listed as out of control, the blaze is located west of Highway 37 and north of Blue River, near Lower Post.
Sparked by lightning at the beginning of the month, the fire has grown steadily since, but is not currently threatening any homes or infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Nahomin Creek fire has grown to over 2,300 hectares and has prompted 5 evacuation orders as well as an alert for areas near Lytton.
