New lightning sparked fires continue to pop up in the Northwest as the Wildfire Service attempts to get others under control.
Now covering 3,250 hectares, the largest of those fires is burning along Blue River, west of Highway 37 near Lower Post, and is listed as out of control.
A fire on the east side of Stikine River Park is still covering 384 hectares, but is listed as out of control.
Two out of control blazes are burning in the mountains west of there, a 65 hectare blaze near the Jennings Lakes, and a 900 hectare fire west of there along Jennings River.
Three new fires have sparked west of Dease Lake, covering 15 hectares near Canyon Creek, 5 hectares near Adsit Lake, and 2 hectares near the Tachilta Lakes.
An out of control fire at Chutine Lake now covers 3 hectares, and two blazes south of Atlin Lake are listed as new and under control.
Two fires south of Mount Edziza near Shaft Creek and the Willow Creek Forest Service Road are now being held.
Three fires burning along Highway 37, north of the Meziadin Junction are now listed as held and under control.
