Environment Canada has issued a pair of special weather statements, covering sections of the Interior and Northeast.
Temperatures are predicted to begin rising this weekend, prompting a special statement for the Bulkley Valley and Lakes, Cariboo, Dease Lake, 100 Mile House, and the Pine Pass.
Daytime highs are expected to hit the high 20s on Saturday, then rise to the low 30s early next week, before letting up by mid-week.
With snowpacks remaining larger than usual, the high temperatures could cause another increase in flood risks next week.
In addition, the risk of heat-related illnesses increases and residents at risk are advised to remain indoors as much as possible.
A heavy rainfall statement has also been issued covering areas near the Fort Nelson and the Rockies, as well as sections of Highway 97.
Between 30 and 60 mms of rain is expected to fall today and tonight.
