While river flows are expected to surge again early next week, they have begun to level off for now.
As a result, the River Forecast Centre has rescinded a Flood Watch which had covered the Skeena water basin, and a High Streamflow Advisory covering the Stikine.
But, a Flood Warning remains in place for the Liard River and its tributaries near Fort Nelson and Watson Lake.
A local state of emergency which had covered Area āCā of the Kitimat-Stikine Regional District has also been lifted.
Evacuation orders which had been in place for Old Remo, New Remo, Usk, and Dutch Valley have been replaced with evacuation alerts.
All evacuation alerts which had been issued by the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako have also been lifted, but an alert covering the Riverside Park Campground, Riverside Drive, and Fall Fair Grounds in Smithers remains in effect.
And a local state of emergency is also still in place in Terrace, though it is solely to allow for repairs to be made to Frank Street to prevent a future washout.
River flows in the Skeena and Bulkley have returned to normal for now, but are predicted to spike up to 100 year levels again late this week.
