A state of emergency issued this weekend covering the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine’s Area “C” has been maintained.
An evacuation order remains in place for Usk, but has been reduced to an evacuation alert for New Remo, and parts of Old Remo.
Dutch Valley also remains on evacuation alert, along with the Ebeneezer Flats and Quick Station areas in the Bulkley Nechako, and in Smithers covering the Fall Fair Grounds, Riverside Park Campground, and Riverside Drive.
Meanwhile, a Flood Watch has been maintained in the Skeena water basin, but has been upgraded to a Flood Warning for the Liard.
In the Skeena, the alert covers the Skeena and Bulkley Rivers, as well as their tributaries near Terrace, Smithers, Telkwa, Hazelton, and Kispiox.
In the Liard, the warning covers the River and tributaries near Fort Nelson and Watson Lake.
A High Streamflow Advisory also remains in effect in the Stikine basin, covering streams and rivers near Dease Lake and Telegraph Creek.
Water levels in both the Skeena and Bulkley Rivers are expected to begin receding in the next couple of days, with flood-levels predicted to cap out at 5 year levels.
