A pair of cooperative associations in the Peace Region will be splitting $1 million in funding for agriculture cleaning projects.
$746,000 of that will go to the Fort St John Seed Cleaning Cooperative to complete improvements to their plant, including two new sorters, a gravity separator, and a super cleaner.
In Dawson Creek, the South Peace Grain Cleaning Cooperative will get $254,000 to purchase and install an optical sorting machine.
Funding comes from the Northern Development Initiative Trust’s BC Hydro Peace Agricultural Compensation Fund.
