Despite an overall decrease in flood risks in the northwest, some advisories and alerts remain in place.
A local state of emergency covering the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine’s Area “C” remains in place.
The District has also maintained an evacuation order for New Remo, Old Remo, and Usk, while Dutch Valley remains on evacuation alert.
A Flood Watch remains in place in the Skeena and Liard water basins, while a High Streamflow Advisory remains for the Stikine.
But, forecasts have improved significantly since last week, when the River Forecast Centre was predicting 100 year flood levels.
Currently, both the Skeena and Bulkley Rivers are sitting at one to two year flood levels, with peak forecasts hitting 5 year levels.
