A driver has turned himself in to police after reportedly hitting four people with his truck during a Residential School march in Mission this weekend.
RCMP were first called out to the march on Saturday afternoon, after reports that a fight was about to break out along the route.
Slews of participants had gathered to make the journey between Heritage Park and the former St Mary’s Residential School site.
But, the route required the temporary closure of the eastbound lane of Lougheed Highway.
As the group made there way across the road, a truck reportedly drove through the procession, striking four participants, with two receiving minor injuries.
Now, a 77 year-old man has turned himself in, and police have seized the truck for examination.
But, RCMP are still seeking more information and are looking to speak with witnesses, and the driver of a dump truck or semi-truck which had been tailing the truck at the time.
Anyone with information should contact Mission RCMP at 604 826 7161.
