$1.9 million in fresh Federal funding will help establish an Environmental Solutions Innovation Hub at the University of Northern BC.
Once established, the Hub will help address pressing concerns in Northern BC in sectors such as water management, mining, forestry, and bioenergy.
Through the Hub, UNBC will be able to connect communities and industry with sustainable and economically viable solutions and world-class research.
With the funding, they will be able to procure the necessary instruments and personnel to meet these needs, and expand development of new technologies.
UNBC has already been working with businesses to develop clean innovations, but the new funding will help to better satisfy demands.
