Earlier today, an announcement was made regarding some funding for projects in Northern BC.
One of the most notable funding amounts announced was that $150,000 would be heading the way of the Northern British Columbia Tourism Association, so they can do everything within their power to make tourism more accessible.
This funding will be provided via the Tourism Relief Fund.
In total, International Development Minister Harjit S. Sajjan announced that $1.8 million would be headed Northern BC’s way to help upgrade public spaces.
The projects receiving include the Fraser-Fort George Museum Society getting $750,000 to renovate their Exploration Place Museum & Science Centre with structural upgrades, the Canadian Mental Health Association of Northern BC getting $29,800 for upgrading their outdoor part of the Connections Clubhouse with new fencing and a greenhouse, $114,375 going to the Ride Burns Mountain Biking Association to refurbish the Boer Mountain downhill mountain biking trail, $252,134 heading the way of the Corporation of the Village of McBride for an upgrade of the 105-year-old Bill Clark Memorial Park and Ball Diamond and the District of Houston getting $656,250 to renovate 10th street.
All of that funding will come from the Canada Community Revitalization Fund.
