BC Timber Sales activities and license holders in the Cariboo-Chilcotin Natural Resource District will be the target of an audit slated to begin next week.
Conducted by the Forest Practices Board, the audit will cover the Williams Lake Timber Supply Area, and will span the entire week.
That will cover license holders in Williams Lake, Anahim Lake, Tatla Lake, Alexis Creek, and Horsefly.
In addition, the Supply Area overlaps the traditional territories of the Secwepemc, Tsilhqot’in, and Southern Dakelh Nation Alliance.
Auditors will look in to whether or not activities conducted in the area between June 1st of 2020, and June 3rd of 2022 met the requirements of the Forest and Range Practices, and Wildfire Acts.
Timber harvesting, roads, bridges, silviculture, and fire protection and planning activities will all be examined during that time.
