BC made an announcement earlier today that they will be implementing new Court of Appeal rules soon.
The main reason these new rules will be coming into effect is so that the appeal procedures for civil matters will be a lot easier for lawyers and people who represent themselves to understand.
These new rules will officially be effective on July 18th and were made also in part because of public consultations.
Some of the changes include updates for filing requirements, simplifying ordinary costs to two scales, clarification of the requirements for the right to appeal and outlining the case management process.
