Police were left feeling disturbed over the colourful, candy-like, appearance of drugs seized yesterday during an investigation in Quesnel.
RCMP executed three search warrants yesterday following a week-long drug trafficking investigation.
During the investigation, they observed two male suspects selling drugs out of both their homes, and in the downtown.
As a result of the warrants, police seized fentanyl, heroin, cash, and two prohibited firearms.
But it was the rainbow-coloured appearance and form of the fentanyl, similar to that of cereal marshmallows, which left them feeling unsettled.
Broken in to chalky-looking rocks and pebbles, the substance could easily be confused with candy, making it attractive to children.
Both suspects were arrested on charges of possession for trafficking, and possession of a prohibited firearm, though their names were not released.
