Day of Mourning ceremonies are being held in 29 communities across BC today to honour those who lost their lives in the workplace.
Each year on April 28th, communities come together in support of the cause, and to renew commitments to creating healthy and safe workspaces.
In the Northwest, Unifor Local 2301 will be hosting a ceremony in Centennial Park and Cenotaph in Kitimat at 11:00 this morning.
In the Cariboo, Williams Lake is holding their ceremony at the Cenotaph by City Hall beginning at 10:30, and Prince George will hold a wreath laying ceremony at the Worker’s Memorial Statue at 10:00.
Dawson Creek and Fort St John will each host ceremonies at their city halls at 11:20 and 11:45, respectively, and Hudson’s Hope will host one at the Memorial by their District Office at 11:00.
