At last night’s Prince Rupert City Council meeting, a request was made by the Moose Hide Campaign to declare May 12th as Moose Hide Campaign day.
The Moose Hide Campaign is an Indigenous Led Grassroots movement of men that is dedicated to ending all violence against women and children.
This Campaign was founded as a response to all the people that have gone missing on the infamous Highway of Tears and the violence faced mostly by Indigenous women and children throughout Canada.
Council expressed support for the movement and their request for May 12th to become Moose Hide Campaign day was approved.
