Coastal GasLink has been issued two enforcement action orders against their pipeline project.
Both orders stem from violations to condition 26 of their Environmental Assessment Certificate, and to a previous order issued in November of 2020.
Condition 26 requires CGL to establish erosion and sediment control measures to reduce adverse impacts on environmentally sensitive areas, such as wetlands.
It also prohibits the pumping of sediment-laden project water in to watercourses and wetlands.
Between April 4th and the 8th, a site inspection, conducted by the Environmental Assessment Office, found CGL to be non-compliant with those conditions.
In order to rectify this, the Office has issued two enforcement action orders.
