Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson has called a local state of emergency due to on-going protests in the Capital.
Protests picked up at the end of last month, with truck drivers and supporters making the journey from across the country.
An effort to challenge vaccination mandates, and put an end to them, the protests have continued through last week and in to the weekend.
Similar protests picked up at hospitals and legislative buildings in Vancouver, Victoria, and others this weekend as well.
Some drew counter protesters, and some prompted safety warnings for health care workers in the area.
NDP leader Jagmeet Singh hosted a virtual call demanding more action from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Singh also proposed an emergency debate in the House of Commons to discuss the steps to end the rally.
Pierre Poilievre, who issued support for the Freedom Rally, declared he would be seeking the recently vacated Conservative leadership, this weekend.
Poilievre is currently considered the front runner, and cited a return of freedoms in his announcement video, posted to social media.
