LNG Canada is clarifying their Covid policies, after some residents raised concerns over raising Covid cases in their Kitimat camp.
According to those raising the issue, despite the cases, some workers who are close contacts to those with Covid say they have been denied rapid tests when requested.
In response, LNG Canada says they are working diligently to understand and combat the challenges of Omicron.
All workers on LNG Canada sites must be fully vaccinated, and submit to a mandatory rapid testing policy.
That policy sees local workers tested weekly via rapid test, non-local workers are triple tested during their rotation.
In addition, the company will be offering workers the opportunity to participate in an voluntary, self-administered testing program.
According to those raising the initial concerns, 3 percent of workers at the Kitimat man camp are Covid positive, a figure which LNG Canada did not confirm.
