In BC’s Fraser Valley, a lot of resource roads have been shut down with crews looking over the damage left by the not so distant rainfall caused floods.
And with these roads being closed, BC’s Forestry sector could end up suffering because of it.
The Initial closure for all forest service roads in the Chilliwack district was sent out back on November 17th and it was finally rescinded in December.
But after the closure was lifted, it was reported that damage was found on 25 percent of the roads in that network and some of the roads were completely gone.
At least 43 forest service roads in the Chilliwack district have been damaged in some way and a lot of other roads in the nearby Cascade district have been damaged as well.
The damage these roads have suffered could end up taking years to fix.
