Earlier today, BC Health officials stated during a news conference that the Omicron variant currently makes up most of BC’s COVID cases and that the amount of people with the virus could end up affecting BC Business’s ability to function normally within the next few weeks.
Dr. Bonnie Henry also said at the conference that the variant’s transmission rate means that everyone in BC will either know someone or very quickly know someone that has COVID.
However, no new public health orders were announced during the conference but Henry also mentioned that businesses should begin planning on how they can continue operating while some staff are isolating.
