A generous community donation has boosted a fund which plans to offer grant funding to Williams Lake organizations.
In a release from today, Mayor Walt Cobb says the City is shocked and delighted at the anonymous 50,000 donation to their newly established Endowment Fund.
It has been just under three months since the City announced the Fund, a segment of the Prince George Community Foundation.
The Foundation, which has 18 regional partners on board, will pool and manage the funds from all of them, allowing for much greater interest gains.
However, the City will maintain control on how the annual income earned will be spent.
Initially, the City invested 50,000 dollars of their own money, which was matched by the Northern Development Initiative Trust.
That brings the City’s total to date investment to 150,000 dollars.
