This year’s Memorial Blue Knuckle Derby, hosted by the Prince Rupert Lions Club, brought in more ticket sales than ever before.
It was the 29th edition of the annual event, which sees which contestant can catch the largest spring salmon before sunset.
More than 100 contestants participated in this year’s event, which took place on Monday, and saw more than 800 tickets sold for a chance at one of 124 door prizes.
When all was said and done, Cliff Ryan brought home the biggest fish with a 16.74 pound salmon which nabbed him the 1,200 dollar grand prize.
Jeremy Main and Harry Young won the two 1,000 dollar grand feature door prizes.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the Club’s endeavours in Prince Rupert.
